Howdy all! I hope everyone is staving off cabin fever and getting their miniatures ready for Paint Masters. As of today we’re still moving ahead with our plans for WarGames Con and I wanted to talk about the Smash & Bash GT.
What is the Smash & Bash GT?
The Smash & Bash GT is a 5 game, 2,000 point Age of Sigmar Grand Tournament that serves as one of four majors in the Texas Masters tournament series.
What is the Texas Masters?
The Texas Masters is a Warhammer Age of Sigmar tournament ranking system that incorporates all players who participate in qualifying events in the GREAT state of Texas. Following a season running from February 1st – November 7th, the top 20 players statewide will be invited to participate in our annual “Master’s Tournament” to distinguish our Texas Champion.

Do I need to be participating in the Texas Masters to enter the Smash & Bash GT?
No. But if you do live in Texas, your final score in the tournament will automatically be entered and you will be ranked in the Texas Masters circuit. You just need to choose a city to represent: Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio.
Do I have to be an experienced Age of Sigmar player to attend?
Absolutely not! It would be beneficial to have a few games under your belt, but by no means is that a requirement. A lot of the participants come to tournaments just for the chance to get 5 games in over a weekend. Many of us are far more interested in hanging out and having fun with like minded individuals that share a love for the hobby and game. Don’t be nervous about attending if you’ve never played in a tournament before. Just let the Tournament Organizers know and we’ll go out of our way to ensure you have a great time.
Yeah, but this is a GT. Aren’t the other players going to just walk all over me?
There is misconception that tournaments are about bringing the toughest list and winning at all costs (WAAC). That couldn’t be further from the truth, especially when it comes to the Texas Age of Sigmar community. It’s true that a small percentage of the field will be “in it to win it”, but as the tournament progresses you’ll be matched up with similarly skilled opponents.
When do Smash & Bash tickets go on sale?
Soon™. We are just waiting for the WarGames Con website to go live. As soon as it does, we’ll post an announcement here and on the Austin Age of Sigmar Facebook group.
